My name is Lori and my husband and I live on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
I am a human slave to my five furkids: Rhodesian Ridgeback, Nalu; and four Italian Greyhounds, Lilikoi, BlueBerry, Cyrus, and Flower and my foster furkid: Jasmine.
Since adopting Cyrus from the Hawaiian Humane Society, I decided
to get involved with IGCA (Italian Greyhound Club of America) Rescue.
We are always in need of donations and foster homes;
please see our website for more information.
Shaka Dog Hawaii came about unexpectedly. I was having a hard time finding unique,
well-made collars for my dogs, so I decided I better learn to make them myself.
I kept getting asked where I bought my collars from and people wanted to buy them,
so I decided to set up a website, and the rest is history.
Every order is made when it is received and generally
take 5 to 10 business days to complete and ship.
Please measure your dogs' neck carefully and email us with any qestions.
If you order the wrong size, you may return it (in new and unworn condition)
within 7 days of receipt; for a $5.00 fee per collar plus shipping costs, we will be happy to make a different size. We do not accept returns on custom and/or embroidered items.
If you would prefer a certain lining for your collar, please let us know.
Shaka Girl Hawaii started in the summer of 2010. Unhappy with headbands not staying in place, I was on a mission to find a way to make non-slip headbands in the fun and unique trims we make our dog collars with. We are excited with the positive response we have received and hope you will give them a try and let us know what you think.
Our goal is to create happy customers (both human and K-9).
If you ever have any questions or concerns,
DISCLAIMER: Shaka Dog Hawaii collars are not guaranteed against normal trim and material wear, scratching, chewing, or execessive tugging or pulling. Some of our trims are sturdier than others;
if your dog is particularly hard on his/her collars, please email us before ordering
and we can help you choose a suitable trim.
It is the customers responsibility to regularly check collars for wear and tear.
Shaka Dog Hawaii will not be held liable for damages to property or injuries to persons or
animals resulting from negligence from the use of our products.
PLEASE NOTE: If your dog wears a collar all the time, every day, it will show signs of wear much faster than if you change out his/her collar frequently. We recommend having a tag collar for them to have identification, and use your Shaka Dog Hawaii collars when going for walks or outtings. We do not recommend leaving your Shaka Dog Hawaii collar on your dog while at dog parks, at the beach, or any place where they will be playing rough with other dogs or doing an activity that would cause excess wear and tear to the collar.
What is SHAKA?
If you have ever visited the islands you've probably seen the
famous hand gesture alongwith the greeting “shaka, brah!”
A shaka sign – the unmistakable pinky and thumb salute; the ultimate symbol
of aloha and local culture in Hawaii. Interpreted to mean “hang loose” or “right on,”
the shaka is a constant reminder that in Hawaii, it is not the norm to worry or rush.
The shaka sign represents what “island style" is all about. And even though our furry members of our family don't shaka, they do know how to hang loose,
have fun, and let us know that every little thing is gonna be alright.
